Laurin + Phil | Married! 08.04.12 | Bailey Island Wedding | Maine Wedding Photographer

This is Laurin & Phil, two of the sweetest people I’ve ever met! The two of them met in Spain (Phil is British/Spanish) while Laurin was studying abroad. They ultimately knew they wanted to incorporate some of their roots into the wedding… Spain for Phil, and Maine for Laurin! They had a unique situation, planning their wedding primarily from the UK, but they totally pulled it off (with much help from Laurin’s parents in Brunswick!). They had their ceremony at the St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Chapel in Harpswell, Maine, which was a beautiful, bright church. It’s a fairly new church — built in 2001 — but I just loved how much light was able to pour into it. Gorgeous! After that we headed to their reception spot, the Bailey Island Library Hall in Bailey Island, Maine, which is also just fantastic. They had a relatively small wedding — around 60-70 guests — and it was a perfect location. Beautiful views of the ocean from the front lawn and an open, breezy layout for the inside (where the hors d’oeuvres were), it was lovely to capture candids of the guests while they mingled and ate! We then headed to the back yard area where there was a tent set up for the dinner, and several of the wedding party gave some very emotional toasts. 🙂
