These Salem, Massachusetts headshots are some of my favorite photos ever — we got to visit a few of my most beloved spooky spots! I photographed Keeley’s safari-themed wedding yeeeears ago, so I was psyched to hear from her again recently. She won a contest I ran on Instagram (I do those a few times a year so you should totally follow me!) and wanted to do a shoot in Salem. Her and her best friend, Jessica, write a newsletter called Us Witches — it is FANTASTIC, by the way — and thought it’d be appropriate to do a photoshoot in the spookiest of New England towns. These downtown Portland, Maine headshots are so awesome to me because THIS GROUP OF WOMEN is so awesome! These are some of the board members from The Junior League of Portland, Maine, a group originally founded in 1922 that is comprised of hundreds of women who have felt empowered and inspired to become leaders in their community. From the website, they “are unified by their commitment to the mission of promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers” and, well, it doesn’t get much better than that.
