This Portland Head Light proposal was so sweet — I love capturing beautiful surprises like this, it’s so fun! Ryan contacted me letting me know that him and Marit were traveling to Maine from Minnesota. They had a break from school and wanted to get away for a bit. He let me know that they’d been dating for almost 5 years so Marit likely knew a proposal was coming someday. We planned to meet at Fort Williams Park and he wanted to propose with a view of Portland Head Light, so we made it happen! These mother and daughter photos in Cape Elizabeth, Maine — with the most perfect, golden light — are among my favorites of all time! Anna was visiting Maine with her two daughters, June and Grace. She wanted to get some quintessential Maine photos so we, of course, met at Fort Williams in Cape Elizabeth to capture not only Portland Head Light but also the gorgeous ocean views it offers! We got the most beautiful weather, golden sunset light, and we had so much fun talking and laughing. Anna is just the definition of warmth and her girls have clearly taken after her with their kind, sweet selves!
