These downtown Portland family photos with John & Melissa and their three boys was such a fun (and chilly!) adventure! I’ve been lucky enough to photograph this bunch for years now, starting from when their oldest was just a baby. They were visiting Portland from their home in California for Thanksgiving and we got together for some downtown Portland, Maine shots. It was chilly but we bundled up and the boys ran around enough to warm themselves up! Donuts from The Holy Donut at the end helped, too. 🙂

This simple ceremony at City Hall in Portland, Maine was sweet and beautiful and just what these two wanted for their commitment to each other. They did a brief ceremony inside City Hall with just the two of them and then we took some brief portraits outside in the late November chill. The respect and deep friendship between these two was evident and it was an honor to be present!
