Melissa contacted me a while back about doing a “cake smash” shoot for her daughter, Anna, right before her 1st birthday. I was thrilled, because not only do I love kids (especially chubby little babies!) but I’d never done a cake smash shoot before and was excited to try it out! It is exactly what it sounds like: you set the child down in front of a cake and let them smash the heck out of it.
