O’Maine Studios Wedding | Eliza & Woody!

This O’Maine Studios wedding in Portland, Maine was so full of life and fun and just the right dash of weirdness — I loved it! Eliza’s mom actually found me first and passed along my info to Eliza, and I’m so glad she did. When Eliza got in touch, she told me about her and Woody meeting in college (at Wesleyan University in Connecticut). They didn’t start dating until senior year and then did long distance for FIVE years while Woody stayed in Connecticut and Eliza headed up to Boston. When he finally headed up there to live with her, he proposed the same day they closed on their condo — talk about a whirlwind. 🙂 They knew right away they wanted to get married in Portland — it’s where Eliza was born and raised — and they opted for a more industrial venue rather than a ballroom. They originally planned on the Portland Company Complex but that ended up closing somewhat unexpectedly so they were happy to find O’Maine Studios! It’s in a perfect location — right in the heart of the city, close to everything — and it’s both open and intimate, industrial yet with touches of classic Maine in the outdoor areas, like lobster traps hanging against a brick wall. Eliza got ready at The Westin and got all beautified by Stacey and Katie from Ollo Hair Salon (one of the best!). They opted for a casual family style dinner catered by the excellent Fire & Company (one of my favorites!) and just wanted everyone to have a blast partying and dancing (which they did thanks to Cover Story Entertainment). It was an excellent day!
