This is Sarah & Colin! When Sarah told me about their “whimsical but classy” wedding with an ocean view, I was all about it. Living in Maine, you really learn to LOVE all of the amazing parts of our state. Sarah and her family are from Maine, but Colin is from San Diego, so it was a destination wedding for much of his side of the family. They met at work — Sarah is a surgical nurse practitioner in surgical oncology at Beth Israel in Boston (holy crap!) and Colin is a resident hoping to be a cardiologist one day. Sarah’s friend told her they should meet — they were both rowers in college — but Sarah didn’t give it much thought. Sarah finally ran into him at work and admired how much both his patients and the nurses all loved him — he’s incredibly kind and humble — so she sent him an e-mail and soon they were totally inseparable! They celebrated at Waterman’s Beach in South Thomaston, Maine — I think my jaw dropped when we walked down the road and I saw the stunning view and the PERFECT blue skies that day. They had some of the most incredible and well thought out decor I’ve ever seen — everywhere I turned there was another interesting detail, another cute touch, another DIY paper lantern or map garland or adorable owl figuring. It was a feast for the senses!
