Rachel + Derek | Married! 08.11.12 | Artist’s Bridge Wedding | Jordan Grand Resort Wedding | Maine Wedding Photographer

This is Rachel & Derek! You might remember them from their Portland engagement session. The two of them met through a mutual friend and had a whirlwind romance, getting engaged very quickly (and happily!). Despite living in Maryland, they chose Maine as their wedding spot because of their close ties to the state — Derek growing up in Westbrook and Rachel’s parents being from the Mexico/Rumford area. They also both still have lots of family in Maine, and knew that the Sunday River area would perfectly combine their love for the state and their love for woodsy, nature-filled areas. They had their ceremony at the Artist’s Bridge in Newry, Maine… SUCH a gorgeous spot!! It was the perfect size for their guests, and had such a unique feel to it… very awesome. We took a bunch of portraits around the bridge afterwards (how could we resist!?) and then headed to the nearby Jordan Grand Resort for their reception! They had tons of kids, tons of awesome guests, and tons of beauty all contained in one room. They went with an overall birch theme, and had so many great details. And they opted to add a photo booth onto their package, which was insane amounts of fun. 🙂
