Melissa + Colin | Married! 10.22.11 | Allen Avenue Unitarian Universalist Church Wedding | Portland Eagles Club Wedding

This is Melissa & Colin! Melissa first contacted me in mid-2010 about their wedding. Her and Colin have one of the cutest (and most fateful!) meeting stories I’ve ever heard. Back in 2007, Melissa called out of work “sick” and went to visit her Mom at her job at a small cafe. Her Mom mentioned that some guys had been in earlier and chatted with her, and that one of them (not Colin) asked if she had a daughter. When her Mom got out of work, she walked Melissa over to where the two guys (Colin and his friend) were working, and introduced them. Melissa and Colin went on their first date the next night, and were inseparable from then on! Adorable! They had their ceremony at the Allen Avenue Unitarian Universalist Church in Portland, Maine. It was very unique — none of the wedding party, or Melissa and Colin, wore shoes. They wanted to keep it very natural. We did some portraits outside the church, and then headed to the Portland Eagles Club for the reception! They kept everything very casual and fun, and had the cutest heart-shaped whoopie pies for dessert. 🙂
