This is Christina & Jon! Christina found me on Offbeat Bride — always a great sign of things to come! She quickly told me they had a tight budget, and that they weren’t sure photography fit into their budget at all, but as she so awesomely put it: “However, I would hate to go to the trouble of having this awesome party and not having any photos to remember it by.” This will make MUCH more sense when you see their photos — it was indeed an AWESOME party, and beautifully decorated to boot! We met in person shortly after and I knew we were a good match — they are laid back and hilarious and were looking for documentary-style photography… exactly what I love the most. 🙂 They celebrated at Broadturn Farm in Scarborough, which, after photographing TWO weddings there last July, is one of my absolute favorite spots in Maine. There’s so many ways to customize and make it your own, but ultimately you get the perfect Maine farm experience — the farm dog wandering around greeting people, chickens randomly running across pathways, cows in the distance, crops growing right next to your celebration, and gorgeous flowers and plants everywhere, not to mention the beautiful barn for dancing and mingling. You can’t go wrong. They had so many awesome details to personalize the day — photos of their cats, references to Washington, DC (where they were living when they contacted me), even doing their first dance immediately after their first kiss (they preferred to get it out of the way and not make themselves the center of attention again later!). I absolutely loved it!
