Bosco | Celebrate Life!

This Celebrate Life session is with my good friend Margaret and her pup, Bosco, who was terminally ill when we did our session. Margaret is the sister of one of my best friends, Matt. I spent basically 50% of my high school days at their house — eating italians, watching TV, playing video games. Their whole family is super special to me, dogs included. At the time it was just Bosco and their girl pup, Ivy — two peas in a pod. I remember every time I’d come over — it didn’t matter if it was 4-5 times in a week — they would run to the door and bark at me. I spent many an afternoon sitting on the couch with Bosco, scratching behind his ears and snuggling up next to him. So when Matt got in touch and let me know that Bosco wasn’t doing too well — he was an old pup anyway, but now had incurable cancer as well — I told him of course I’d do a shoot before he passed. I call these shoots Celebrate Life sessions and their purpose is to get some nice, natural photos of your elderly and/or terminally ill pet before they pass. Margaret wanted to be the one to spend time with Bosco during the shoot, so I went to their home and we just spent a while loving him, petting him, and snuggling him while I got some photos. We ended up having very good timing — he passed away less than 2 weeks later. I’m so happy I was able to get these shots of him with his puppy siblings, and of the two of them together!
