Birthday Cake Smash Session with Kristin & Colin! | Portland, ME

This birthday cake smash session with Kristin and her son, Colin, was so much fun! I photographed Kristin’s engagement session and wedding YEARS ago, so I was super excited when she told me that her and Luke had a baby. We weren’t able to get together during Colin’s first year, but she brought him over to my home for a cake smash session when he was turning 1! It was hilarious. He is one of the few kids I’ve seen who has REALLY taken to the cake during the cake smash session. You’d be surprised at how many kids just scrunch their face up in disgust when they try frosting for the first time, but not Colin. I’m not sure if he enjoyed eating it or squeezing it between his fingers more, but Kristin and I laughed SO MUCH during this shoot!
