2013: Instagram!

I wanted to throw in this 2013 recap post since it’s basically all from my personal life — my 2013 in Instagram photos! I took over 1,200 Instagram photos in 2013… so this is just a mere sample. 😉

I hosted a big photographer BBQ at our house (so fun), ran my first 5K (ok, I walked half of it, but still), attended the Maine Brewers Festival (I preferred the food), got a HUGE haircut, visited Watertown the day after the bomber was found, and got a private tour of Fenway for an engagement session!

I also hosted a Halloween party with my Mom, visited NYC and saw some naked cowboys and cowgirls, attended a friend's wedding in upstate New York, went to my first ever bridal show (Lovesick Boston!), spent a week on Long Island for an awesome vacation, AND started decking out my car in bumper stickers. :D

THE BENGAL! The most popular cat on Instagram (at least from my household...). He had lots of fun adventures in 2013 (and sat in/on lots of odd places).

Oh yes. Dominating the staircase, squeezing himself inside boxes, and lounging on the chair!

One of the most important things I did in 2013? EAT! Eating is PROBABLY my favorite thing to do, coming in shortly behind living and breathing. White Russians, strawberry milk, chocolate coconut cake, mojitos, macaroni & cheese, frozen custard, Cadbury Cream Eggs, and open faced breakfast sandwiches, to name a few!

Ah yes, more eating. My favorite goat cheese salad from Flatbread, strawberry salsa, chocolate cream pie, peanut butter brittle gelato, maple seltzer, Ice Cubes, and Kraken rum!

Yeah... just a little bit more food. Red Mango frozen yogurt (with lots of Butterfinger pieces), a delicious milkshake from Potbelly in DC, a famous "Garciarita" made by my uncle, homemade veggie scramble, a delicious wedding meal, my first trip to Steak n Shake, and strawberry soda!

I went to DC in April with my Mom, which was one of the best trips of my life. We saw the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, I stood where Martin Luther King gave his "I Have a Dream" speech, took a tour of the Capitol, saw the Washington Monument, and visited a few different museums. AMAZING.

In July we adopted a rescue puppy and named her Mukow. She has been THE GREATEST!

She destroys water bottles, eats our socks, and lays all over us... but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Some randomness: I got to see my brother's artwork on display (twice!), got a cactus (and it started sprouting mini cacti), found an awesome heart-shaped leaf, AND found this amazing stop sign on Peaks Island.

I got to spend lots of time with family. Record shopping with my brother and Nate, lounging outside with my dog-in-law Rivet, watching Nate play baseball with his extended family, seeing my dog-nephew Waffii, bowling with my brother, hanging out in the hot tub with some of my extended family, seeing my cousins in Cincinnati, sitting by the fire with my brother and his fiance, and cuddling my Mom's cat, Knoppie!

I got to spend lots of time with friends, too: went to NYC with Kate & Kim, had lots of meals with Tina (who is VERY EXCITED for brunch), got to see my friend Brandon when he came from Japan with his girlfriend Mika, sushi with Graham, and kitty scratches with Tina and her little lady Ellie.

More friend action... me with two of my favorite boys, met up with my old high school friend Jake in DC, a few weddings with Graham, solo time with Alec, and hugging my friend Lulu in Cincinnati!

My husband was an adorable nerd, as always! :D

MORE FOOD! You didn't think there would only be THREE food collages, did you? The best (and messiest) burger at Owl's Head General Store, margaritas, princess cake from Silly's (my favorite), tacos from El Rayo, blueberry hard cider, Sriracha lays, hot mulled cider, and veggie pizza from Leonardo's!

Mount Desert Island ice cream, my favorite cookies (made by me!), s'mores with Reese's cups, spicy dill pickles, another awesome wedding meal, jalapeno burger with fries, and chocolate soft serve from Kettle Cove!

I took lots of SELFIES omg. This might seem weird, but 2013 was a big year for me in terms of getting my self-confidence back. I spent a long time not loving how I looked, but I either started loving it or stopped giving a fuck in 2013, which was awesome.

More of ME!

I know things aren't so important, but there were still some cool things to be had in 2013. Nate bought me an awesome ghost hunting tool for Christmas, my Mom gave me a framed Ryan Gosling photo for Valentine's Day (which still sits on my desk), I bought a new goooorgeous camera bag, I scored this amazing brass unicorn on Etsy, finally bought Hyperbole and a Half (and devoured it in about an hour), and grabbed up a 60mm macro lens!

I am in the process of reading (and loving) every one of Mary Roach's books, found this incredible cotton candy candle at Target, upgraded to the iPhone 5S (so worth it), started a collection of tiny animals which started with this dinosaur, and got the cutest makeup bag known to man.
